III: became interested in Naruto due to the boy's abilities, though for a different reason than Danzou. II: Even though he is Konoha's most Elite ANBU, he is ranked as the sixth ranked ninja in the Village under Jiraiya, Tsunade, Kakashi, Gai and Naruto. I: He is Konoha's most Elite ANBU and has the most impressive mission record of any ANBU member before or since his induction into their ranks, overshadowing the likes of Danzou, Hatake Kakashi, Uzuki Yugao and Uchiha Itachi. He is also the only known Elite Jounin in any village who lacks an Elemental Affinity. However, his lack of talent in those fields is not due to his inability to use them (like Rock Lee), just his inability to learn and use them effectively. In fact, he hardly has any talent in either field at all, which is why he focuses mostly on Taijutsu.
